After that, we attacked the various rooms in the hall and exterminated the bandits scattered in those rooms one after another.
Fortunately, the screams in the hall were not transmitted to the bandits in the other rooms therefore we weren’t discovered which helped us in dealing with more rooms.
Filia did not take any action after the incident but cooperated with us by suppressing her urge for revenge.
As a result, she continued to stealthily clean room after room, leaving only one room ramining.
We see the bandits on the second floor and what seems to be their leader.
With the see-through spell, we see seven bandits in addition to the leader sitting in what seems to be a throne.
We were hiding in the corner of the hallway where the door of the room was visible, and we were having our last strategy meeting.
“Mr. William … I have a request”
At the strategy meeting, Filia asked me with determined eyes.
“I just want me to do that last room.”
Filia’s said that with clear eyes.
Beneath I saw the murky darkness of hatred and revenge.
Although her soul may seem like a normal human, her origin is a ghost created by hatred.
The desire to dispel hatred with her own hands may explode any minute now.
She endured it so far.
Now, she must be at her wits end and wants to release all her emotions on the last remaining bandits and their leader.
It would not be appropriate for me to tell her now that revenge wont get her the result she wants.
I ask Filia one more time for confirmation.
“If we refuse, what will you do?”
“I don’t want to do that, but I’ll kill Williams here and then go and kill those scum.”
As expected it was that answer.
I glance at Cyril and Mii, and when I see them nodding I reply to Filia
“Okay, but we need to calculate their strength.”
“Comparing the fighting ability of Filia with Satsuki’s body and the bandit’s overall fighting ability in that room, they’re about equal on strength and Filia might be in a disadvantage.”
Filia is silent.
But this is necessary because Satsuki must not be exposed to any more danger.
Assuming that seven of the eight bandits in that room are G rank-equivalent gangs and F-rank cadres, and the remaining one is more skilled than the cadres. Therefore the leader is likely E rank and Filia is currently considered D rank will have a tough time.
So it would be better if we ambush them like we have done previously.
So it’s riskier to do a frontal fight because we have to make sure that Satsuki’s body is fine.
“I mean, can’t you just leave it to me?”
Filia’s eyes become sharp.
“Calm down, I didn’t say that I will not leave it to you. If you don’t have enough skills I can magically enhance your ability.”
“Release your body and accept my magic, Are you ready?” (E.N: It was written like this not my fault :3)
“Ah … yes.”
As she replied I cast series of Support spells at Filia, who had released her defenses.
I cast the spells “Weapon Enchant, Force Field and Haste” which are all advanced Support Spells.
In view of the current remaining amount of magic and the efficiency, this should be the most effective and well-balanced reinforcement configuration.
By the way, during this time, when Filia was ready to accept magic, i had an evil thought.
I guess I could use the sleep spell here to take care of Filia.
The thought that we could exterminate the bandits at a lower risk without exposing Satsuki’s body to extra danger appeared briefly in my mind.
But if I do that, I can’t predict what Filia will do when she wakes up.
She couldn’t fulfill her regrets, and she might get angry which might forces her to kill us using Satsuki’s body.
Then I thought about whether or not to break Filia’s spirit with a mental destruction mind blast spell after casting a sleeping spell on her but I had my own code of conduct.
So I won’t do it.
There is also a large magical penalty for using several extra mind blasts.
By weighing the advantages and disadvantages I let go of these ideas.
“I’m also using the miracle of blessing . It’s better than nothing.”
Cyril said as she cast a Holy prayer.
The radiance of the prayer not only falls on Filia but on us as well.
The body of the samurai girl, which was strengthened with multiple support spells was wrapped in pale golden light.
Eventually, it disappeared as if sucked into her body.
“Okay, it’s up to you now Filia. I hope you succeed.”
The girl responded with determination and turned her eyes to the door of the last room.
