Reincarnated into a Werewolf, the Demon Lord Servants - Chapter 50: Rashie's Letter
Chapter 50: Rashie’s Letter
How have you been? It’s me, Rashie.
To tell the truth, up until recently, I have been a part of a scandal. All that drama regarding the fake Hero party? I was playing the role of Saint Miradine, serving by the Hero’s side.
But as you can probably guess, that’s all gone wrong, and I’ve stopped with that role. I’m currently living in Ryun Height for my own safety.
Before we start, let me clarify that the Hero Lanhard never existed. He was just a made-up existence created by the Senate.
Anyway, it’s been a few days since I quit my job as a fake Saint and moved to Ryun Height.
I was initially perplexed by the climate of the South, but I quickly grew accustomed to it. I’d like to credit that to my rather moderate and adaptive personality, but the food here is also delicious.
The living situation in Ryun Height was completely different than what I had expected.
When I initially began working as Saint Miradine, I received a brief explanation,
“Ryun Height is ruled by demons, where screams of execution and torture can be heard on a daily basis. Bodies are left out in the open, and the stench of decay pervades the atmosphere. The drains are dyed red and black with blood, and there is no access to clean water.”
To be honest, I was scared.
But then again, we were under the impression that we had to unite the people of Mirarudia as one, even under the guise of a fake Hero. At least, that’s what I thought.
However, our plan did not work.
I will never forget what happened that night and I don’t want to remember it for the rest of my life.
The three knights who were with me died.
I’m sorry that I was the only one who survived.
I was able to survive the fall from Schwerm to Ryun Height thanks to assistance from the werewolf general, Vaito. The people here are unaware of my status as a fake Saint, and even if they are, they don’t care much about me.
For example, the priest of the Huiyang Church here was unlike any other and he was a very kind person. He even comes all the way to see me.
When I confessed my sins, he repeatedly nodded his head and told me with a soft smile, “I, too, am a sinner and a lost soul. You can’t erase your sin, but you can make amends. I can’t erase my sin, but I can make amends.”
I had the impression that the great people of the Huiyang Church were more intimidating, but that does not appear to be the case here.
There are also a lot of demons walking around in the city.
Are they inujins? I think they’re probably inujins, they’re really cute and fluffy.
There’s also a werewolf and a lizard-like person. I was scared at first, but they were surprisingly kind and polite.
Oh, and there were men with the upper half of a human and had the lower half of a horse. The majority of them were very muscular and fairly attractive.
Ah, before I forget, I’ll write down the names of the three knights who were working with me.
I’m not sure if these are their real names, but if they have any family members out there, they should recognize them.
Evinem-san was the primary person playing the role of a Sword Saint.
He always said, “There are plenty of people with better swordsmanship than me, but this name is a little…”
Carnizsa-san, who tends to play the role of the Holy Knight always said, “It’s good to be popular, but it’s hard because you have to behave properly.”
Sherk-san is the one who undertook the main role of the hero Lanhard the most, and he loved to ask, “If we get rid of the demon tribe from Mirarudia, will we be able to tell the truth one day?”
All three of them were defeated by the werewolf general, Vaito-sama. Their abilities did not go unnoticed, though. He gave praise to all of them, stating that they were all first-rate warriors.
If the three of you are watching over me, then thank you. Thank you all for always being dependable, kind gentlemen. Please, may the three of you rest in peace.
I, a coward, will continue to live under the protection of the Demon King’s army. I’m really sorry.
Vaito-sama was my enemy, and I have no idea why he risked his life to save me.
It was also odd that Vaito-sama had only killed three knights that night. He went on a rampage to save me, but he didn’t kill any of the Mirarudia soldiers.
When I asked him why, Vaito-sama gave me a funny look and turned away from me. He then said, “Ah… you see, it was pretty boring to fight those bastards, I didn’t feel threatened enough to kill them.”
I’m neither a demon nor a soldier, so I’m not sure, but is that how it is?
But, thanks to that, I felt a lot better. I hate it when people die needlessly.
In any case, Vaito-sama is a member of the demon tribe, but he seems strange to me. He seems like a friendly older brother in the neighborhood.
Oh and, I also became a disciple of the great sage Gomoviroa, a powerful magician in the Demon King’s army. She gave me permission to call her Movi-chan.
But I remember learning the name Gomoviroa while I was in training, I believe? Was it during magic history class? I’m not good at the history of magic.
It’s been a while since I’ve studied, but I’m reminded of how much I actually enjoy learning magic. Being able to follow a formula to get guaranteed results is what makes the activity much more appealing than socializing with normal people. When I told Movi-chan, she completely agreed with me wholeheartedly.
The other day, I was thinking about how I reacted when I was initially saved. I kept thinking to myself, ‘I only did what I was ordered to do, why are people so angry at me?’
But in the end, I have to take responsibility for what I did, don’t I? I can’t always blame it on my superiors. Actually, I want to become a leader figure of sorts as well, so it’d be a waste of time to keep thinking about the past, wouldn’t it?
That’s what I’ve been reflecting on recently.
Since I’ve deceived many people, I will work towards fixing what I’ve done wrong. Even someone like me can become useful to the public if I try hard enough. Maybe.
Like world peace?
I hope that someone will be able to deliver this letter for me, but it’s unlikely that it’ll ever reach you two. So I hope that someday, I’ll be able to see you two in person.
I hope everything is going well for you both.
P.S. I think the Senate has probably fired me, so I’ll work hard in the Demon King’s Army to pay back the scholarship. I’ll pay it back no matter what. Watch me!
